The Whitley Church/The Bridge pastoral staff and Intentionally Yours ministry directors have been praying about DivorceCare at Whitley Church/The Bridge since the leadership change in February.  Through our prayers, we are led to delay this session scheduled to start April 12, 2010  until the fall because honestly, we are not prepared to present it with the excellence that God calls us to or that you deserve from us.  If you are led to take a DivorceCare session starting sooner than the fall, please click here: www.divorcecare.org to find a session starting at another church in your area.

In the meantime, we encourage you to:

Pray.  Get God’s Word, understanding, truth, hope and wisdom for your marriage and family.  Ask for prayer from those around you that love you.

Seek good biblical counsel and encouragement from experienced and godly men and women- in Titus 2, we are commanded to give good counsel.  This counsel may come in a variety of forms:

• Ask your pastor to refer to you a couple in your church who have overcome trials in their marriage who may be able to mentor you.
• Take the current class offered by Intentionally Yours Marriage Ministry (For Men Only/For Women Only).
• Sign up for devotionals from websites like: www.familylife.com, www.rejoiceministries.org, and www.marriagetoday.org.
• Seek out someone to speak with regarding your situation through the Healing Hearts Ministry at Whitley Church.
  
• If your need is primarily marriage related, contact us at Intentionally Yours.  We would love to meet with you or encourage you via email.

Pray about taking our class “Choosing Wisely: Before You Divorce”, a five week session that will address what may be the biggest decision of your life.  One that will affect you for years to come.  Don’t let the emotional intensity of a marriage crisis drive your decision.  Before deciding whether to divorce or stay together, you need information—LOTS of information.  Before You Divorce is NOT marriage counseling; it will help you step back from the emotional turmoil you now face to take an objective view of how divorce (if you select that path) will affect your life in several different areas: Emotional; Physical; Financial; Legal; Children and family; and Spiritual.  It is essential that you have this information before making your decision.  Before You Divorce features top experts on marriage and divorce, presenting Biblical, Christ-centered perspectives.
