GIVE LIFE by GIVING CHRIST… Give blood!

Q: I’ve wanted to come for a long time.  There are so many wonderful things said about your church and there was a time when I was on fire (for God).  I had lost that fire and I have been missing the spiritual part of my life.  I did not miss it for a while, but I can feel myself being called back into church and into faith.  I was so happy to have a house guest attend with me because I do not like to do things alone, but, I know I need to be here, I can feel it.  I would love more info on your church and any groups or classes that you offer.  Thank you for today!

A: Thank You for your kind words!  Since you’ve indicated you “don’t like to do things alone”  our first suggestion is to get involved in a Life Group!  We also offer classes on Wednesday nights that you can be involved in & throughout the year we have many other classes for growth available.  The best way to find all this information is to visit us online at www.bridgechurch.cc

Q: Could we have everyone squeeze into the center (of the aisles) to make room on the ends?  Maybe mention right before service, most people will understand and accommodate.

A: We try our best to communicate that during our heaviest attendance times via announcements and slides before the service begins. This is a perfect opportunity to help us help you by asking others to slide over and make room for others!

Q: My husband and I are stationed at Seymour (Johnson Air Force base) and are looking to become members. I want to serve, but am not sure of my “talents” that God has given me to use.  Any info or answers will be much appreciated!  Thanks.

A: If you do not know where your gifts are, we strongly suggest to “jump in” to ministry and get your feet wet serving in any area! Parking lot, coffee shop, children’s ministry are a few that provide opportunities to serve. Also, D2:Discovering Your S.H.A.P.E is a great place to get started, but our experience is that God will honor you serving in the area of greatest need until you find your “sweet spot.”

Q: There is a house on this street by the church that is in dire need of paint, can we reach out and paint it for them?  Giving Life!

A: We do many outreach events to serve our community, as well as help with some household repairs for individuals like deployed military spouses and those who are physicallyor financially incapable of doing the work themselves.  Speak with our Outreach Pastor, Jimmy Bryant by emailing him at jimmybryant@bridgechurch.cc and share your ideas!

Q: Why don’t we have communion more often?

A: We are going to begin serving communion at least monthly in the near future. We agree that we should celebrate more often!

Q: Will we ever do “The Cross And The Crown” (our former annual Easter production) again?

A: The Cross and the Crown was a vital part of the growth and development of our church’s culture. Its impact on the community as a whole certainly cannot be denied. However, our staff and leadership teams have decided for the foreseeable future that we will not be offering The Cross and the Crown as an event at The Bridge. However, we have a saying here at The Bridge: Never say never!

Q: Is it Whitley Church or The Bridge?  What is the correlation?

A: Whitley Church was the original name of our church. Whitley Station was a crossroads/railroad station just up the road from what is now the Princeton Campus. It is this long-gone area for which Whitley Church was originally named. The Bridge is the name of our satellite location in the city of Goldsboro. Since the satellite location opened, we have always said we were one church with two locations, but there was confusion since we had two names. To reduce this confusion and to better indicate the culture of our church today, the decision was made by the staff and leadership to change the name of the Princeton campus to The Bridge as well. That way we can be one church, with one name, with two locations.

Q: I’m 16, and have been to every service since Oct and cried a few times.  Your services empower me.  I am thirsting for more.  I’m only 16 but that is just a number not an excuse to sit down.  How can I get more involved at such a young age? I’m passionate about this I want to help people!

You’ll need to attend before you can make that commitment.
• D2: Discovering Your S.H.A.P.E. Did you know the New Testament makes it clear that it is God’s will for every believer to grow up and become spiritually mature? It’s a process of growing and becoming more like Jesus every day. Get the tools you need to start or move forward in this journey!
• D3: Discovering Christian Maturity will help you determine your spiritual gifts from God and how you can use them in your church, your community and your world.
• D4: Discovering Your Mission will teach you how to share Jesus Christ with your family, friends and acquaintances in an effective, nonthreatening manner.
